As a human-focused agency, we are committed to supporting creatives of colour. Nobody could have predicted the current Covid-19 situation and we are aware (and experiencing ourselves as a self-funded project) of the real impact of the disease on the opportunities for creatives as well as the financial burden.
QUARANTINE AND CREATE is a workbook full of challenges across a wide range of creative disciplines with the aim of not only providing an outlet for creatives' anxiety or frustration, but also a way to create small funding opportunities for our community.
We have three financial prizes on offer for all who enter a submission:
1st Prize: £100
2x Runner-Up Prizes: £50
This money could go towards groceries, bills or other essentials you may need in this time. Additionally, we will be picking out a number of brilliant submissions to feature in an online zine we will compile and release when the isolation period is over as a marker of the end of a period of uncertainty and as a showing of the resourcefulness, resilience and creativity of our amazing community.
You don't need to have amazing kit to take part, this challenge is all about resourcefulness and resilience, use what you've got and most importantly, have fun!
HOW IT WORKS
The workbook and its challenges are open to anyone, whether you are a creative by profession or just want to dedicate this time to learning/practicing a new skill or even just releasing some pent up anxiety or frustration.
The workbook is £2.50 (this cost goes towards supporting the creatives who helped to create the content) and has challenges and activities categorised by creative practice: Digital Design, Writing, Creative and Art Direction, Styling, Painting/Drawing, Music and Typography/Animation and Photography.
Deadline: Friday April 24th
All submissions should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org and all submission guidelines for each category will be listed in the workbook. Also, don't hesitate to get in touch with any questions you might have! We hope you and your loved ones are keeping safe and are so excited to see your submissions!
The workbook will be sent direct to your email inbox after purchase. We greatly appreciate your support of a teeny business like us and hope in turn we can provide you with some reprise in this weird time.
